Our Core Beliefs
Core Values:
All individuals as having gifts and a call to minister as full participants in expanding God’s kingdom. (1 Peter 2:4-5, 9-10)
The pursuit of knowing God as fully as we can. We seek to know Him primarily through His written revelation, the Bible. In addition, we understand that reason and tradition play critical roles in helping us to interpret His wrtten word. Finally, experience is the test. When we apply what we know, does it cause an increase in love/holiness (the test of our understandings)? That is how we confirm that we know Him better. (Colossians 1:3-12, 1 Corinthians 13:1-3)
Vibrant Christian Community. We seek to build community that fosters practical love, hospitality, kindness, gentleness and self-control, lived out primarily in small groups. (Acts 2:42-47)
Authenticity. We want to live who we say we are, yet with humnility that precludes pride, which leads to hypocrisy. (Matthew 6:5-6; Philippians 2:3-8; James 4:6; 1 Peter 5:5-6)
God’s great desire to bring all people into a growing relationship with Himself through His son, Jesus. We live to make as many disciples (Christ followers) as we can and to bring them into Christian maturity through proclaiming a simple gospel with demonstrations of power. (Matthew 28:19-20; 1 Corinthians 2:1-5)
